In the third quarter of 2024, the top navigation and maps applications on iOS in Kenya showed varied performance in terms of downloads and active users. According to Sensor Tower data, these trends provide a snapshot of user engagement and app popularity in the region.

Google Maps experienced a stable trend in downloads, with figures slightly fluctuating around 2.2K to 2.9K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users also showed a steady increase, peaking at approximately 80K by the end of September.

Google Earth displayed a consistent but modest download trend, ranging from 230 to 330 weekly downloads. Its active user base remained relatively stable, averaging around 1.7K throughout the quarter.

Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) saw a gradual rise in downloads, reaching up to 240 in early September. The app's weekly active users mirrored this trend, growing to about 180 by mid-September. The app also recorded occasional revenue spikes, with peaks of $15 and $12 in early July and late August, respectively.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic maintained a steady download rate between 130 and 200 weekly downloads. Its active user count showed a positive trend, increasing from 1.6K to nearly 1.9K by the end of the quarter.

The Nairobi Expressway app, while new to the market, showed promising download growth, starting from 29 and reaching up to 216 by early September. However, data on active users was not available.
